Want to build your confidence in machine quilting? Well this is the class to solve that problem. Learn or improve your stitching in the ditch and free motion machine quilting technique by quilting any quilt panel. We will finish the quilting, learn how to make and apply machine binding. WHAHOO! Finished project. Use it on your front door as a door hanger. If you don’t have a person to give this quilt to, you may want to donate it to Project Linus.

Fabric:
– Any Panel (required) Check your local Quilt shop.
– Backing 2” long and wider than the panel (check to see if panel fits)
– Binding 1/4 yd to 1/2 yard for most panels
– Crib Batting Hobbs 80/20 Fusible both sides (available at Best Little Retreat Center in Texas)

Supplies:
80/12 or 90/14 machine needles
– Seam Ripper
– Small Fabric Scissor
– Sewing Machine in good working order & Manual Darning Foot (absolutely required)
– Extension Table for sewing machine (very helpful if you have one)
– Bendable light or Ott light (very helpful to see stitching on black)
– Appliqué Pressing Sheet by Bear Thread #BT209 18” x 20” (available at Best Little Retreat Center in Texas)
– 13/4” long quilters straight pins
– Quilting Gloves (optional but very helpful)
– Choose the threads that compliment your panel whether hide or contrast.
– Choose the bobbin color to match the back.
– Polyester clear can be used on part or all if you don’t want to change threads. If you want help because you have never used it before.
Before Class…
– Cut Binding into 5 each 21/4” x WOF (42”)
– Sew End to End and trim to 1/4” seam allowance. Fold in half and press. Bring to class.
